New to hormone optimization? Your first step is simple: labs.
Could your hormones be contributing?
Hormones influence nearly every system in your body. When they’re out of balance, the effects can show up in ways you might not immediately connect to your hormones. Here is a list of common symptoms that may indicate a benefit from hormone optimization.
W Women
- Brain fog
- Poor sleep
- Mood changes
- Fatigue or low energy
- Hot flashes or night sweats
- Weight gain or difficulty losing weight
- Low libido
- Vaginal dryness
- Loss of muscle tone
- Changes in menstrual cycles
- Feeling like you just aren't yourself
M Men
- Low libido
- Poor sleep
- Low energy
- Erectile dysfunction
- Decreased motivation
- Difficulty recovering from workouts
- Irritability
- Brain Fog
- Increased body fat
- Reduced muscle mass
- Decreased mental focus
That's exactly why we begin with comprehensive lab work.
We don't guess.
We Test.
Symptoms associated with hormone imbalance can overlap with nutrient deficiencies, thyroid dysfunction, inflammation, stress, metabolic concerns, and other health factors.
Rather than making assumptions based on symptoms alone, we start with comprehensive laboratory testing and a detailed review of your health history.
Only after understanding the bigger picture do we develop your personalized treatment plan. For some patients, that may include bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. For others, a different approach may be more appropriate.
Personalized care based on data & your feedback, not assumptions.
The BusyBee Hormone Optimization Journey
Start by Understanding What's Happening Inside Your Body
Every hormone optimization journey begins with understanding your baseline. We’ve created two levels of testing so you can choose how deeply you’d like to look at your hormone health and overall wellness. Once you’ve selected your lab panel, you’ll come into BusyBee for your scheduled lab draw.
Essential Hormone Panel
A focused panel that provides the baseline information your provider needs to evaluate your hormone health and determine whether hormone therapy may be appropriate for you.
Those primarily interested in evaluating their hormones and getting started with hormone therapy.
Advanced Hormonal Homeostasis
This in-depth evaluation includes everything in our Essential Hormone Panel, plus additional testing designed to provide deeper insight into hormonal health and your overall wellness.
- Hormone health
- Adrenal/stress hormones
- Nutrient levels
- Thyroid function
- Cardiovascular health
- Metabolic health
Those who want to look deeper & beyond hormone optimization and gain a more comprehensive picture of what’s happening throughout their body.
Your Hormone
Optimization Consultation
Once your results are available, you’ll return for a dedicated 45-minute Hormone Optimization Consultation. This is where we connect the dots between your lab results and how you’re actually feeling. Together, we’ll review:
- Your comprehensive laboratory results
- Medical history, current symptoms, lifestyle
- Previous hormone therapy, if applicable
- Personal health goals
Our provider will then create a personalized treatment plan based on your individual needs. If hormone pellet therapy is determined to be appropriate, your pellet placement can be completed during this appointment.
Fine Tune
Your Treatment
Around weeks 4–5, we’ll repeat your lab work to see how your body is responding and fine-tune your treatment plan with your provider. If you and our provider determine that a boost would be beneficial, we’ll get you scheduled.
- Draw & review follow-up labs
- Assess symptom improvement
- Discuss changes you've noticed
- Determine whether a boost pellet may be appropriate
- Fine-tune your treatment plan when needed
Feeling Better Is
Just the Beginning
Once your initial optimization is complete, we’ll help you maintain your results with ongoing hormone care & explore additional ways to support how you feel.

Frequently Asked
Questions
How do I know if I need hormones?
You don’t need to figure that out on your own.
The first step is completing your lab work and HRT intake. Your provider evaluates your symptoms, health history, goals, and laboratory results before recommending hormone therapy.
Do I need labs?
Yes. We require laboratory testing before initiating hormone therapy.
If you’ve recently completed appropriate labs elsewhere, we may be able to review those rather than repeating them. Additional laboratory testing may be requested when clinically indicated.
Which lab panel should I choose?
If your primary goal is only evaluating your hormones, start with our Essential Hormone Panel.
Choose our Enhanced Hormonal Health Panel if you’re interested in deeper insights into your hormone health, nutrient deficiencies, metabolic health and potentially interested in other treatment options such as GLP-1s, thyroid optimization & more. This panel gives our provider all labs needed to move forward.
What types of hormone therapy do you offer?
Depending on your evaluation, treatment options may include:
- Pellets
- Creams
- Injections
- Oral medications when appropriate
Your provider will discuss which approach may be the best fit for your individual needs. We do not currently offer hormone patches.
What are hormone pellets?
Hormone pellets are small implants placed beneath the skin that gradually release hormones over several months.
They can be an excellent option for patients who prefer not to manage daily creams, pills, or frequent injections.
How long do pellets last?
It varies by patient. Women typically return every 3–4 months, while men typically return every 4–6 months. Your schedule will depend on your individual response to therapy. We’ll help guide you along the way.
How soon will I feel a difference?
Everyone responds differently. Some patients begin noticing changes within approximately 2–6 weeks, while certain symptoms may take longer to improve.
Hormone optimization is a process, which is why follow-up is an important part of our program. We’ll evaluate your response and adjust treatment when needed.
Is hormone therapy right for everyone?
No. Hormone therapy has potential benefits and risks and isn’t appropriate for every person. That’s why every BusyBee patient begins with laboratory testing, a detailed health history, and a provider consultation before treatment is recommended.
How much does hormone therapy cost?
Getting started is $199 for your initial lab work, and your $100 provider consultation is currently complimentary!
If hormone therapy is recommended, cost depends on the treatment that is best suited for you.
Your provider will recommend treatment based on your individual needs, labs, health history, and goals, not price or treatment type.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Many HSA/FSA plans allow eligible medical visits, lab testing, and treatments, but coverage varies. We recommend confirming eligibility with your plan administrator.
